Do Costa Rican citizens need a visa for Dubai?

Costa Rica is on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-free list. Costa Rican citizens get an entry permit stamped at the airport on arrival, with no application before travel.

How long the entry permit lets you stay depends on your nationality, so check with ICP or your airline before you fly. If you need to stay longer, you can apply for an extension inside the UAE.

If you'd rather travel with a visa already approved, or want a particular visa type or length of stay, you can apply online with Kite Star Tourism before your trip and we'll handle the application for you.

Entry rules are based on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa exemption list, checked on 21 October 2026. Rules can change, so confirm with ICP or your airline before you travel. MOFA list · ICP

Arriving in Dubai on a Costa Rican passport

  • Carry a passport valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
  • Have your return or onward ticket and your hotel booking or host's address ready, as officers can ask.
  • Check how many days your entry permit allows and note your last day.
  • If you plan to stay longer, apply for an extension before that day to avoid overstay fines.

Staying longer than your entry permit

You can extend from inside the UAE without leaving the country. We offer the 30 Days Inside Visa Extension (AED 1600 (about CRC 198,482), 2-4 days) and 60 Days A2A Visa Extension (AED 1900 (about CRC 235,698), Same day).

Paying from Costa Rica

All our prices are in UAE dirhams (AED). If your card is in CRC, your bank converts the amount and may add a foreign transaction fee, so the final charge can be slightly different from the CRC estimates on this page.
