Dubai Visa for Turkish Citizens 2026: Requirements & Process

Quick answer: Most Turkish citizens with an ordinary (bordo) passport need a UAE tourist visa before travelling to Dubai. You can apply online for a 30-day, 60-day or 90-day visa with a passport copy and a photo, without visiting the UAE Embassy in Ankara or the Consulate in Istanbul. Turkey is one of four nationalities on Kite Star Tourism's 90-day leisure visa: complete applications are submitted the same day, and approval usually comes the next day.

Do Turkish Citizens Need a Visa for Dubai?

For ordinary Turkish passports, yes. You need a UAE e-visa approved before boarding. Airlines check this at check-in in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya or wherever you fly from. The visa is issued electronically as a PDF, so there's no sticker, stamp or embassy appointment.

Which visa should you choose?

  • A long weekend or a one-week holiday? The 30-day visa is usually the cheapest choice.

  • Visiting family or friends who live in the UAE? The 60-day visa gives you time without extending.

  • Escaping the Turkish winter, or touring several emirates? The 90-day leisure visa covers November to March on one application and has the fastest posting time on our desk.

  • Flying in less than a week? Choose the express visa, or the 90-day visa if the longer stay suits you.

Your permitted stay counts from your date of entry into the UAE, not from the day the visa is issued. You must enter before the entry deadline printed on the e-visa, which is usually within 58–60 days of issue.

Documents Required for Turkish Citizens

For most Turkish applicants the list is short:

  1. Passport copy: a clear colour scan of the bio page of your Turkish passport (pasaport), valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. All four corners must be visible, and the two machine-readable lines at the bottom must be sharp, with no glare.

  2. Photograph: a recent biometric-style photo (biyometrik fotoğraf) in colour, with a white background, face fully visible and a neutral expression. See the photo specifications.

Depending on your profile, the form may also ask for:

  • Residence permit copy: if you live outside Turkey, for example an Aufenthaltstitel in Germany, a verblijfsvergunning in the Netherlands, or a permit in Azerbaijan or the GCC.

  • Previous UAE visa or residence cancellation papers: if you've lived or worked in the UAE before.

  • Supporting documents for children: such as a birth certificate or a population registry extract (nüfus kayıt örneği) when a child travels with one parent or relatives.

Your Turkish ID card (kimlik) isn't accepted as a travel document for the UAE. You need a passport.

Names and Surnames: Get Them Right

UAE immigration matches your application against your passport. These are the details Turkish applicants most often get wrong:

  • Multiple given names: many Turkish passports print two given names (for example "Ahmet Emre" or "Ayşe Nur"). Enter all given names exactly as printed, in the same order, even if you only use one day to day.

  • Turkish characters: the passport's machine-readable lines convert ç, ğ, ı, ö, ş and ü into plain Latin letters (for example "Öztürk" becomes "OZTURK"). Use the spelling from the passport's main name field, and don't make up your own version such as "Oeztuerk".

  • Surname changed after marriage: apply using the current passport's surname. If an older UAE visa was in your maiden name, mention it in the remarks.

  • New passport: if you renewed your passport, apply with the new one. A visa issued on an old passport doesn't transfer.

Dubai Visa Processing Time for Turkish Citizens

Standard 30/60-day visa decision

2–4 working days

90-day leisure visa

Submitted same day, approval usually next day

Express visa

24–48 hours

The UAE weekend is Saturday and Sunday, and processing can pause on UAE public holidays. Turkish holidays such as Ramazan Bayramı, Kurban Bayramı and the New Year period don't stop UAE processing, but they make flights busier and fares higher, so apply at least 2 weeks before you fly at those times.

Why Choose the 90-Day Leisure Visa?

Turkish visitors often combine Dubai with Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the northern emirates, or spend the mild winter months (November to March) in the UAE, when daytime temperatures are around 20–30°C. The 90-day leisure visa covers the whole season with one application.

  • Who it suits: retirees wintering in the sun, families visiting relatives, and travellers who want flexible dates.

  • What it's for: tourism and family visits only. It doesn't cover work or business activity that earns income in the UAE.

  • Why it's faster: Turkey is one of only four nationalities (with India, the Philippines and Jordan) on this product, and complete files are posted the same day.

Business Trips and Trade Fairs

Many Turkish exporters and professionals visit Dubai for trade fairs and meetings at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Expo City. A tourist visa is generally fine for attending a fair, meetings or a conference. It doesn't allow you to work for a UAE company or be paid in the UAE. If you'll be doing more than short meetings, ask us whether a different visa type fits better. See Dubai tourist visa is not a work visa.

Travel Tips for Turkish Visitors

  • Flights: direct flights from Istanbul (IST and SAW) to Dubai take about 4–4.5 hours, with Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Pegasus, flydubai and others. There are also direct flights from Ankara, Izmir and Antalya on some days. Compare fares on our flight search.

  • Which airport? Check whether your flight lands at Dubai International (DXB), Al Maktoum (DWC) or Sharjah (SHJ), and book your airport transfer for the right one.

  • At check-in: save the e-visa PDF on your phone and carry a printed copy.

  • Money: Turkish lira isn't accepted in Dubai shops. Carry some UAE dirhams (AED) or use a card that works abroad, and check your bank's foreign-transaction fees.

  • Things to do: browse Dubai activities and desert safari options once your hotel is confirmed.

  • Help in the UAE: the Turkish Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Turkish Consulate General in Dubai assist Turkish nationals with lost passports and emergencies.

Arriving in Dubai and Staying Legally

  • At the airport: carry the printed e-visa, your return ticket and your hotel or host address. Immigration may scan your eyes or face and take your fingerprints.

  • Count your days: your stay starts on your entry date. Note your exit deadline as soon as you land.

  • Overstaying: UAE immigration charges daily fines for every day past your visa, and overstaying can lead to a ban. Leave on time or extend before the visa ends.

  • Extensions: some tourist visas can be extended from inside the UAE (see Dubai visa extension). Message us at least a week before your visa expires.

What Delays a Turkish Application

  • The second given name is left out

  • Turkish characters are converted in a different way from the passport

  • The surname doesn't match the current passport

  • The passport scan is cropped, or the two lines of code at the bottom can't be read

  • The photo has a coloured background or isn't a proper passport-style photo

  • An earlier UAE overstay, refusal or unused visa wasn't mentioned

If you've had a UAE visa rejected before, tell us before applying, and we'll check what probably caused it. See also how to avoid a UAE tourist visa rejection.
