When Is Global Village Dubai Open in 2026–27?

Global Village Dubai Season 31 opened on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, and runs until May 2027. The park closes every summer because of the heat and reopens each October, so it is only open in the cooler months.

The final closing date for Season 31 had not been announced when we updated this guide. Global Village normally publishes it during the season, and sometimes extends the season by a few weeks. If your trip is in late April or May 2027, check the official Global Village website before you plan a visit.

Global Village timings

  • Monday to Thursday: 4pm to midnight

  • Friday to Sunday (weekend nights): 4pm to 1am

  • Public holidays, New Year's Eve, Eid and Ramadan: hours often change. Ramadan 2027 is expected to start around 8 February. Read our Ramadan in Dubai guide for tourists if your trip falls in that month

Some days in the season are reserved for families or set aside for maintenance. Check the official calendar before you go.

Is Global Village Worth Visiting?

Yes, especially if you are in Dubai between November and March. It is one of the few places in Dubai where you can try food from dozens of countries, shop for crafts and watch street performances in one evening, outdoors, in good weather.

Here is what most visitors spend their time on:

  • Country pavilions. Each one is styled on a country or region and sells its crafts, textiles, spices, sweets and souvenirs. Bargaining is common at many stalls.

  • Street food. Hundreds of kiosks and restaurants, from Turkish ice cream and Yemeni honey to Korean snacks and Indian chaat. Come hungry.

  • Live shows. The main stage and roaming performers run all evening. The full show schedule is in the Global Village app.

  • Carnaval. The ride and games area. Rides are paid separately from the entry ticket.

  • Fireworks. Usually on weekend nights and on special dates such as New Year's Eve. Check the app for the times.

If your group mostly wants rides, compare Global Village with a theme park day. Our Ferrari World Abu Dhabi visitor guide covers one popular option.

How to Plan a Global Village Dubai Visit: Visa First

If you live outside the UAE, plan your Global Village trip in this order: visa, then flights, then hotel, then tickets. The park is the easy part. Your entry to the UAE is the part that can hold up the whole trip.

  1. Check whether you need a visa. Some passports get a free stamp at Dubai airport. Most travellers need a visa issued before they fly. Start with our Dubai visa on arrival guide.

  2. Choose the visa length. A short holiday usually fits the 30-day Dubai tourist visa. A long family visit may suit the 60-day visa or the 90-day leisure visa.

  3. Apply before you fly. Follow how to apply for a Dubai tourist visa, or open the Dubai visa page and pick your nationality.

  4. Book flights on the Kite Star flight search once your visa dates are clear.

  5. Book your hotel on the hotel search, using the area tips below.

  6. Buy Global Village tickets online a day or two before your visit.

How to Get to Global Village Dubai

Most visitors arrive by taxi, ride-hailing app or private transfer, because the park is not on a metro line. The drive from Downtown Dubai, Business Bay or Al Barsha usually takes about 25 to 35 minutes, and longer on busy weekend evenings.

Where to Stay for Global Village Dubai

You don't need to stay next to Global Village, but staying south or inland saves time on the drive. Choose based on what else you want to do in Dubai.

  • Dubailand, Arjan and Al Barsha South: the closest hotel areas. They suit families who plan more than one evening at the park and also want Dubai Parks or Miracle Garden.

  • Al Barsha (Mall of the Emirates): a mid-range base with metro access and an easy drive to the park.

  • Downtown Dubai and Business Bay: best if Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the fountains are your main plan. Global Village is a reasonable drive away.

  • Dubai Marina and JBR: beach and nightlife, but the furthest of these areas from Global Village. Allow more travel time.

For a full breakdown of areas and budgets, read our Dubai hotels and where to stay guide, then compare live rates on the Kite Star hotel search. Pick hotel dates that sit inside your visa dates.

Global Village Tickets: What to Know

Buy tickets online from the official Global Village website or app. You get a QR code to scan at the gate. Global Village has usually sold two main ticket types: a cheaper ticket for weekdays (Sunday to Thursday, excluding public holidays) and an any-day ticket that also works on weekends.

  • Entry tickets do not include Carnaval rides, games or food.

  • Young children, senior citizens and people of determination have usually entered free. Check this season's rules on the official site.

  • VIP packs, which include parking and ride credits, are sold before the season and usually sell out.

We don't print ticket prices in this guide because they are set by Global Village each season. Check the current price on the official website.

Tips for Your First Visit

  • Go on a weekday. Monday to Thursday evenings are noticeably quieter than weekends.

  • Arrive at 4pm. Walk the pavilions before it gets crowded, then eat as the lights come on.

  • Carry a card and some cash. Most outlets take cards, but a few small stalls prefer cash. Read money and cards in Dubai for tips.

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You will walk several kilometres.

  • Take a light jacket in December, January and February, because winter evenings outdoors can feel cool.

  • Choose a meeting point for children and groups, as phone signal can be weak in big crowds.

  • Plan the next day. Pair Global Village with a desert safari or other Dubai activities. Our things to do in Dubai in winter guide has more ideas.

Visiting Global Village With Children

Global Village is one of Dubai's most family-friendly evenings out. Strollers are common, there are family toilets and prayer rooms, and Carnaval has rides for small children as well as thrill rides.

Every child travelling from abroad needs their own UAE visa or entry permission, including infants. Our guide do children need a Dubai visa? explains how to file a family together so everyone's dates match.

What This Guide Does Not Price

We don't list Global Village ticket prices, ride credit costs, taxi fares or hotel rates. All of them change during the season, and an out-of-date number is worse than none. Ticket prices are on the official Global Village website. Hotel rates and flight fares are live on the Kite Star hotel search and flight search. Visa prices appear on the Dubai visa page after you choose your nationality and visa type.
